About the Opportunity:

As a Data Product Analyst within Arden University’s Data Practice, you’ll play a key role in translating our data product vision and strategy into clear, actionable requirements that enable our teams to deliver valuable data products.

Working closely with Data Product Leads, Lead Engineers and the wider Scrum team, you’ll bridge the gap between product strategy and technical delivery. You’ll capture and document business and data requirements, map processes and workflows, and translate strategic priorities into structured user stories and well-defined backlog items that development teams can confidently take forward.

You’ll act as the day-to-day link between the Data Product Leads and the Scrum team, ensuring requirements are clear, understood and ready for delivery. You’ll help facilitate effective collaboration across technical and non-technical stakeholders, bringing structure and clarity to complex requirements and supporting the smooth progression of initiatives from idea through to delivery.

While your primary focus will be requirements analysis and documentation, you’ll also have the opportunity to contribute to wider data product development activities, supporting team priorities and helping to continuously improve how we develop and deliver data products across the University.

About You:

Essential requirements:

• Relevant degree or professional qualification in a numerate, business or analytical discipline, such as Business, Data, Economics or Computer Science, or equivalent relevant professional experience.

• Proven experience working successfully in a Product Analyst, Business Analyst or similar requirements-focused role, ideally within a data or technical product environment.

• Strong experience in requirements gathering, analysis and documentation, with the ability to translate business needs into clear, structured and delivery-ready requirements.

• Strong process mapping and documentation skills, with experience using tools such as Visio, Lucidchart, draw.io or Miro.

• Experience working within Agile/Scrum delivery environments, including backlog management, user story writing and defining acceptance criteria.

• Experience translating ambiguous or complex business needs into clear, structured requirements that can be understood and delivered by technical teams.

• Good understanding of data concepts, including data models, data sources and data pipelines; full data engineering experience is not required.

• Strong stakeholder communication skills, with the ability to work effectively with both business and technical audiences.

Desirable requirements:

• Experience working within a Higher Education setting.

• Experience with data and analytics tooling such as Microsoft Fabric, Power BI, or similar.

• Familiarity with Jira, Azure DevOps, or other backlog management tooling.

• Experience supporting multiple product workstreams concurrently.
