This role is predominantly remote, with occasional travel expected to our Coventry Head Office or any of our Arden campuses, which are currently Birmingham, Leeds, Manchester, Nottingham, Tower Hill, Ealing, or Stratford.
Travel to other campuses will occur only when business needs arise, and visits to the Coventry Head Office may be required approximately once a month.
Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department:
This role will be part of the Faculty Administration Team in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology (FoSST). Whilst the role will be predominantly supporting the activities of the School of Psychology (one of three schools in the Faculty), team members are expected to work flexibly and assist across schools where required.
The School of Psychology comprises four departments:
School of Psychology Undergraduate
School of Psychology Postgraduate
School of Psychology Distance Learning
School of Psychology and Counselling
These departments host a variety of degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate-taught level.
About the Role:
The Academic Administrator provides high-quality administrative support to a designated School, working collaboratively with other Schools and the Faculty. The role involves close engagement with key stakeholders, supporting academic leadership and the effective delivery of academic priorities and projects.
The position requires the coordination and monitoring of multiple commitments, with the ability to balance competing workloads and meet Faculty and School deadlines. Strong organisational and time-management skills are essential, along with the capacity to respond positively and effectively to changing and unforeseen demands.
The Academic Administrator makes effective use of Microsoft applications, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, to support administrative functions and demonstrates a high level of digital literacy. The role also involves ongoing development of digital skills in alignment with the University’s strategic direction.
Through the provision of comprehensive administrative support, the Academic Administrator contributes to the smooth and efficient operation of School activities, supports the successful implementation of academic initiatives, and promotes a collaborative working environment across the institution.
About You:
We are seeking a highly organised and effective administrator who is capable of working on their own initiative, able to independently gather information, build connections and advance tasks with minimal supervision. You will be:
Experienced in the use of digital tools and Office 365 to support administrative tasks.
Have strong communication skills (both written and verbal).
Comfortable working and liaising with diverse teams and areas of service delivery.
Experienced in managing and minuting meetings.
Have a good understanding of Financial transactions in terms of raising POs and cross-checking information
Experienced in planning, managing and monitoring a variety of commitments, and balancing conflicting workloads to meet service demands and deadlines.
Comfortable with responding to unexpected demands and working under pressure in an effective and positive manner. ; excellent time management skills
Experience of working in Higher Education would be highly advantageous.
