This role operates on a remote working arrangement that might require occasional travel into our various UK sites. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department:
The Faculty Admin Manager will sit within the Faculty of Business and Innovation which is one of the biggest Academic areas within Arden University. The Faculty is formed of three Schools which each have a team of Academics teaching on a variety of Business programmes. These programmes are distributed over twelve separate departments each of which have a specific subject expertise such as Business Management, Accounting, Marketing and Health and Care Management. Overall the Faculty is committed to delivering the best student experience through the delivery of high quality programmes.
About the Opportunity:
The Faculty Admin Manager supports the work of the Dean, Associate Dean, and the Senior Leadership Team to achieve Faculty objectives. You will manage and allocate work to the Academic Admins, ensuring the smooth operation of administrative functions within the Faculty. You will coordinate with all internal and external stakeholders, including Professional, Statutory, and Regulatory Bodies (PSRBs), as well as internal departments such as marketing, quality, registry, and finance.
You will be responsible for aligning administrative processes and ensuring consistency across the administrative function. Additionally, you will represent the faculty at Arden-wide meetings and project groups, driving change and continual improvement through process monitoring and review.
About You:
Essential requirements:
- Highly skilled and confident communicator (in written and verbal forms) comfortable with working and liaising with diverse teams and areas of service delivery; able to handle sensitive issues with confidentiality and professional behaviour at all times
- Excellent attention to detail and a systematic approach to work; able to work unsupervised
- Effective problem-solver, willing to take initiative to make a positive change to a process/system for the benefit of all stakeholders.
- Able to work in a matrix structure where all of the departments are interconnected.
- Good planning and prioritisation of tasks
- Able to support a senior team within an organisation on a range of administrative tasks and functions (for example: data analysis, planning and arranging meetings, minute taking)
- Extensive experience of use of Microsoft tools for administrative support (Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Teams) in a professional context.
- Experience of organising and planning external and internal events and meetings
- Experience of continual improvement and best practice.
- Experience of planning, managing and monitoring a variety of commitments, balancing conflicting workloads of team members to meet service demands and deadlines; comfortable with responding to unexpected demands and working under pressure in an effective and positive manner
- Excellent time management skills
- Digitally literate with a willingness to continue to develop knowledge and skills in this area, in line with the development and future direction of Arden University.
Desirable requirements:
- Experience of working in a similar role in a higher education/other educational institution in the UK; experience of working with geographically distributed teams
- Knowledge of key current issues within the HE sector.
- Experience of workflow management.
- Project Management / Management qualifications
- Line Management qualification / experience
