This role operates on a hybrid working arrangement that will require 3 or 4 days travel into our Berlin campus. This may fluctuate in line with business requirements. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.

About our Department:
We are seeking a passionate Senior Computing Lecturer to join our innovative team within our Department of Computing & Technology. Our lecturers are designing and delivering cutting-edge programmes that aim to meet the evolving needs of employers and prepare graduates for tomorrow’s challenges.
About the Opportunity:
As a Senior Computing Lecturer, you will collaborate with a team of academics located across Arden's campuses, working together to provide the best possible experience for our students. Our blended learning programmes offer flexible daytime and evening classes, while our distance learning programmes engage students through a variety of online learning platforms. As a Senior Lecturer in Computing you will:
- Co-ordinate and line manage academic teams, and work with internal and external stakeholders to ensure effective delivery of programmes in accordance with University strategy, policies and process.
- Lead on or assist with the development of new programmes and the review and refresh of our existing programmes, ensuring alignment with employer requirements and the employability needs of our students.
- Teaching and training activities (both face to face and online).
- Lead, develop and monitor students, using a range of innovative approaches to enhance the student experience and improve student outcomes.
- Module leadership, ensuring levels of consistency and quality and developing our learning materials and schemes of work.
- Assessment marking and development, developing authentic assessments, ensuring appropriate marking guidance is provided and maintaining levels of quality in terms of feedback and evaluation processes
- Innovate in terms of teaching practice, support, and assessment.
About You:
As a Senior Lecturer in Computing, you will be confident in using a variety of techniques that align with Arden’s focus on active learning, in both face-to-face teaching at our campuses and online teaching platforms. As a module leader, you will ensure that modules are delivered consistently and to our university standards. You will be confident in leading and managing academic teams, ensuring standards of quality across teaching and assessment. You will also be comfortable supervising final year projects and supporting students applying their academic and technical skills to solve real world problems.
To be successful as a Senior Lecturer in Computing here at Arden you must have:
- A Master’s Degree or equivalent professional qualification in a Computing Science or related discipline.
- Proven experience in delivering engaging teaching across Levels 4 to 7 in at least 3 of the following areas:
- Programming (Python, Java)
- Database
- Operating Systems/Networking
- Digital Business/Ethics
- IT Project Management
- Data Analysis/Big Data/AI
- Cloud Computing
- HCI/UX/Web Development
- Cyber Security
- Ideally, industry experience in the subject relevant to the teaching area
- Experience in using diverse teaching techniques in both face-to-face teaching and online platforms.
