About the Department:
Our Department of Investigation, Security and Defence sits within our School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law. Our programmes offer students immersive, real-world investigative experience, leveraging the latest virtual and augmented reality technologies to simulate real-life investigations.
About the Opportunity:
We are seeking a Lecturer in Criminal Investigation to teach Policing and Forensic Investigation at the undergraduate level. This role offers the chance to shape future professionals in law enforcement, security, and forensic fields. You will:
- Deliver engaging online lectures for distance learning students.
- Lead modules, ensuring high-quality learning materials and schemes of work.
- Develop and oversee authentic assessments and provide constructive feedback.
- Contribute to programme development, aligning courses with industry trends and employer needs.
- Support and mentor students, helping them achieve excellent academic outcomes.
- Drive innovation in teaching methods, student engagement, and assessment strategies.
About You:
To be successful as a Lecturer in Criminal Investigation you need:
- A degree in Policing or Forensic Investigation, or other relevant subject.
- An MSc or substantial relevant industry experience in policing, forensic science, or criminal investigation.
- Strong IT skills, with confidence in using digital teaching platforms.
- AdvanceHE Recognition (FHEA) or willingness to achieve this within 12-18 months.
- Experience in teaching, learning, and assessment practices, with a passion for student success.
- Subject matter expertise, bringing industry knowledge and real-world insights to enhance our programmes.
