About the Department:
This Lecturer in Psychology (Behavioural Neuroscience) role is based within the School of Psychology, part of the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology. Our dynamic academic team combines extensive experience from academia, professional practice, and industry.
Our focus is to equip students with in-depth psychology knowledge and practical skills to make them employer-ready graduates.
About the Opportunity:
As a Lecturer in Psychology, you’ll play a pivotal role in empowering the next generation of psychologists. Reporting to a Senior Psychology Lecturer, you will:
- Deliver engaging, innovative, and inspiring lectures.
- Take module leadership, ensuring the consistent delivery of high-quality learning materials.
- Develop authentic assessments, provide constructive feedback, and oversee marking.
- Lead or support the creation of new programmes and refresh existing ones to meet industry trends.
- Offer academic advice and support to students, fostering their success.
- Drive innovation in teaching methods and assessment techniques to enhance student outcomes.
About You:
We’re looking for a passionate educator with:
- An MSc or equivalent formal qualification in Psychology, and be recognised by the BPS as having Graduate Basis for Chartership
- Expertise in Behavioural Neuroscience and experience teaching it up to Level 7.
- A strong track record in Higher Education teaching, learning, and assessment practices.
- A history of working collaboratively in programme teams and inspiring students.
- AdvanceHE Recognition (FHEA) or a commitment to achieving it within 12–18 months.
