Student Experience:
This role sits within the broader Student Experience department, dedicated to ensuring an excellent student journey throughout the student lifecycle at Arden, from application and admission though to graduation.
This role sits within Wellbeing Services, a key area of the Student Experience department. Wellbeing Services includes Disability and Accessibility and Mental Health and Wellbeing support for Arden Students.
Disability and Accessibility Team Leader - The Role
As a Disability and Accessibility Team Leader, your responsibilities will include:
- Develop and lead on Arden’s Disability and Accessibility strategy
- Lead a team of Disability and Accessibility advisers, based across our campuses and remotely
- Oversee disability support at Arden including appointment and caseload management, reasonable adjustments, support re Disabled Students’ Allowance (DSA), screenings and diagnostic referrals, NMH support, overseeing the disability section of Arden’s online wellbeing portal
- Work closely with the Wellbeing Services Manager, a second Team Leader, and the Mental Health and Wellbeing Team to develop the service, ensuring holistic and streamlined support for students
- Anticipate and address evolving needs with innovative solutions as Arden grows.
**Travel is not expected to be more than once a month
About You:
The right Disability and Accessibility Team Leader will have the following:
- Experience of managing a team of disability advisors in a Higher Education setting
- Experience of creating and implementing disability strategies, policies and processes in Higher Education
- Experience in reviewing systems and processes with a view to growing and developing a service
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills and ability to work cross-departmentally (admissions/library/academics etc)
- Taking initiative and a pro-active approach to problem-solving in identifying and implementing improved ways of working
