Why do I work in Education
I have spent the last 13 years working in Education. It’s rewarding knowing everything we do impacts people’s lives and their future. Everything we do has an impact on the world we live in. Educating one person can have a real impact on their family and shape how they live their life.

My role
I head up our Talent Acquisition team at Arden. Our team work with our hiring managers to hire the best talent into the business. Primarily this is in the UK and Germany. We recruit across the University, be it academics who inspire our students every day, or hiring into our corporate teams.

Best things about my job
This is a newly set up team so we are building processes and introducing new technology and ways of working to the business. It’s exciting to do this along side the day to day recruiting.

My first job in my area of speciality
My first role in a HR capacity was working in Chicago as an intern during a placement year at University. I liked the challenge, the culture and the varied work each day. Fast forward 20 years I'm still in the HR space – a shout out to Kevin for inspiring my career.

Favourite outside work activity
Football, Photography, Running. They are all a passion. My aim is 10k in less than 40 mins... One day I'll get there! If I had to pick one though it has to be watching / playing football. Being able to go and watch football with my father for 21 years, sitting in the same seats, sampling the highs and lows and just having the opportunity to share the time with him is one of the best things in life.

Favourite Arden benefit
For me a work life balance is important. 30 days annual leave, with bank holidays on top, and Christmas closure means I get about 41 days off a year to spend with my family. What’s not to like about that
