This role operates primarily on a remote working arrangement that will require little to no travel. Our working model arrangements are a non-contractual benefit so please note that an Arden work location is added to our employment contracts.
About the Opportunity:
We have some great new opportunities for students to contribute to a project focused on enhancing the quality of marking and feedback across the university. Working under the guidance of the Senior Lecturer in Curriculum and Assessment, Student Consultants will independently review and evaluate feedback against a defined set of criteria.
The role provides valuable experience in quality assurance, critical evaluation, and academic enhancement, while offering the flexibility to balance responsibilities alongside existing study commitments.
We are keen to recruit students from a broad range of courses, disciplines, and academic backgrounds to ensure a diverse range of perspectives are represented within the project. Applications are welcomed from students across all Arden University programmes and levels of study who can bring their unique experiences and insights to the evaluation of marking and feedback practices.
Full training and support will be provided, making this an excellent opportunity for students to develop transferable analytical and professional skills while helping to improve the learning experience for fellow students.
** Hours will vary depending on project requirements and individual availability, with an average commitment of approximately 2-3 hours per week. As this is a project-based opportunity, weekly hours are not guaranteed. The project is expected to run for an initial six-month period.
About You:
To be successful in this role, you will be a current Arden University student with strong written communication and organisational skills, coupled with the ability to work independently and manage your own workload effectively. You will have completed at least one year of study and be comfortable reviewing and evaluating feedback against agreed criteria.
Essential Criteria
Currently registered on an Arden University programme.
Completed at least one year of study.
Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in writing.
Strong organisational skills with the ability to manage time effectively and meet deadlines.
Experience of receiving feedback as a Higher Education student.
Desirable Criteria
Previous experience as a Student Representative, either at Arden University or another university or college.
An interest in enhancing the student learning experience and contributing to academic quality improvement.
Ability to provide objective and constructive evaluations based on established criteria.
