About the Opportunity:
As a School Tasking Workshop Facilitator, you will play a key role in delivering fun and engaging, Taskmaster-inspired Law workshops for Year 5 (9-10yrs) school pupils. Through these sessions, you will help pupils develop essential skills such as teamwork, problem-solving, and creativity, while introducing them to concepts related to Law in an accessible and memorable way.
You will work with young people from a variety of backgrounds, helping them to take part in challenges that encourage confidence, communication, and collaboration. Your role will involve preparing and facilitating activities, guiding pupils through tasks, and ensuring sessions run smoothly and inclusively.
As a current Arden University Law student (located in a commutable distance to Birmingham), you will bring your enthusiasm, perspective, and strong interpersonal skills to inspire pupils, acting as a positive role model. The programme consists of four 1.5-hour workshops delivered at a primary school in Birmingham, with training, preparation and debrief supported by university staff. There is an additional opportunity to get involved in the regional and national finals depending on the success of the school team and availability to travel.
About You:
You must be a current Law undergraduate or postgraduate student at Arden University (Blended or Distance Learning), who has successfully passed at least two modules and is within a commutable distance to Birmingham, UK.
Excellent communication skills with the ability to actively engage with young children (9-10yrs).
The ability to be able to work independently and as part of a team, have self-discipline and use initiative when preparing and delivering school tasking workshops.
Ability to adapt legal knowledge into clear, accessible, and age-appropriate content.
Good time management skills including punctuality and the ability to keep sessions running to schedule.
Enthusiastic, reliable, and committed, with a genuine passion for working with young people.
A sound understanding of core areas of Law, particularly Statutory Interpretation, Tort Law, and Human Rights, with the ability to explain these in a child-friendly way.
