About our School:
The School of Criminology, Criminal Justice and Law is one of three schools in the Faculty of Social Sciences and Technology. The school comprises of four departments, Criminology and Criminal Justice UG, Criminology and Criminal Justice PG, Investigation, Security and Defence and Law, that host a variety of vocationally focused and academic degrees at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.
About the Opportunity:
Arden University is setting up Employer Advisory Boards to help ensure programmes are industry aligned and responsive to economic and technological change.
As a member of the Employer Advisory Board, you’ll help shape the future of education for the school by sharing your industry expertise and insight. Your contributions will support curriculum development, promote graduate employability, and strengthen partnerships between the faculty and the world of work.
This is a collaborative and strategic role that amplifies employer voice - helping to shape direction and ensure students graduate ready to succeed in the modern workforce.
About You:
We're looking specifically for someone with a strong legal background to become the board member for our Law courses. You could be an experience Solicitor / General Legal Council / Barrister etc who's interesting in sharing their industry knowledge.
You'll be / have
- Substantial professional experience within the legal sector – for example, as a practising Solicitor, Barrister, Legal Counsel, or Senior Legal Executive.
- Demonstrable understanding of current and emerging trends in the legal profession and the wider justice system.
- Experience of strategic input or advisory work, such as sitting on panels, boards, or committees, or contributing to organisational or sectoral development.
- Ability to offer insight into the skills, knowledge, and behaviours sought by employers in the legal sector.
- Commitment to supporting higher education, professional development, and the employability of graduates.
- Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the confidence to share perspectives and contribute constructively in group discussions.
- Willingness to engage in approximately 2–3 online meetings per year and review materials or provide feedback between meetings as required.
