The Role
Independent Assessors will be responsible for preparing for, conducting and grading End Point Assessments (EPAs) in line with Arden University regulations, quality assurance practices, and the requirements of the Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship end point assessment plan and criteria, all the while complying with the agreed timescales.
The Agreement
This role will be offered under a Provision of Services Contract - outside of IR35, which means the successful applicant will be engaged as an independent contractor rather than an employee. As such, the individual will be responsible for managing their own tax, National Insurance contributions, and business-related expenses. This arrangement does not include employment benefits such as holiday pay, sick leave, or pension contributions.
Due to the nature of the working model, only applicants based in the UK are eligible to apply. The hours stated are indicative and not guaranteed, with workload allocation subject to operational needs. Our working models can be subject to change during assignment.
The Opportunity

Arden University is looking for skilled professionals to join our pool of Independent Assessors for the Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship programme, supporting the delivery of this programme on a flexible, as-needed basis.
As an Independent Assessor, you will play a vital role in completing the end point assessment activities for learners on the Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree Apprenticeship. Work is offered on a task and finish basis, allowing you to accept work that fits your schedule and professional interests.
There will be two assessment windows per year. The number of learners requiring assessment will vary depending on progression, with an estimated total of fewer than 40 learners across both the Supply Chain Leadership Professional Degree and Project Manager Degree Apprenticeship programmes during the initial run.
Key Responsibilities
Depending on the needs of the University and your expertise, your work may include:
- To prepare for, conduct and grade End Point Assessments (EPAs) in line with Arden University regulations, quality assurance practices, and the requirements of the relevant apprenticeship standard end point assessment plan and criteria, all the while complying with the agreed timescales.
- To complete all EPAs and record and upload all relevant material onto the system(s) to meet SLAs.
- To be a credible ambassador for Arden, role modelling SPARK values.
- To ensure that all Arden University resources are utilised effectively and responsibly, through a culture of continuous improvement
- To fulfil the key responsibilities of the job role in a professional manner adapting to changing circumstances and prioritising accordingly.

About You:
You will be an experienced subject matter expert with the ability to conduct End Point Assessments (EPAs) in line with Arden University regulations, quality assurance practices, and the requirements of the relevant apprenticeship standard end point assessment plan and criteria, all the while complying with the agreed timescales. The following qualifications and skills are required:
Essential:
- Assessor Award such as TAQA/A Award/D32/D33 and/or substantial experience of assessing in a standards-driven environment.
- Functional Skills L2 in English and Maths, or equivalent.
- Hold professional status equivalent to a university professor, reader, lecturer or teacher AND have a minimum of five years experience in supply chain management.
- Knowledge of apprenticeships, End Point Assessment methods and processes.
- Strong attention to detail and robust IT skills.
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
- Coaching qualification.
- Teaching qualification.
- IQA qualification.
- Experience of working as an Independent End Point Apprenticeship Assessor.
