About our Department:
The Marketing department at Arden is responsible for delivering student acquisition and lifecycle campaigns that are insight-led, high performing, and creatively ambitious. As we expand our operations, we are investing heavily in Marketing Cloud capabilities to enable smarter, more personalised communications across the entire student journey — from first enquiry through to enrolment, progression, and beyond. This role sits within a growing team focused on campaign automation, CRM integration, and multi-channel delivery — supporting Arden’s transformation towards more data-driven, always-on student marketing.
About the Opportunity:
As a Senior Developer for Web Personalisation you will:
Own the development of Arden’s web personalisation capability, powering conversion and engagement across the full student lifecycle
Develop and optimise web personalisation using Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalisation and CloudPages
Shape and scale Arden’s personalisation architecture, enabling dynamic, data-driven experiences across web, CRM, and marketing platforms
Translate design assets into responsive, high-quality front-end components using modern JavaScript
Support the migration from legacy landing page tools to modern, scalable static page builders
Build and maintain robust, reusable templates that can be adapted into dynamic CloudPage experiences
Work with API-driven integrations and light server-side scripting to enhance functionality and connectivity across platforms
Act as the technical expert for Marketing Cloud Personalisation, ensuring performance, reliability, and best practice across all web experiences
Collaborate closely with marketing, design, and digital teams to deliver seamless and engaging user journeys
Contribute to the ongoing development of the wider digital ecosystem, including modern JavaScript frameworks and cloud-based content platforms
Support continuous optimisation and innovation across the organisation’s web and marketing technology stack
About You:
Essential requirements:
Strong front-end development skills, including modern JavaScript (ES6+), HTML5, and CSS3
At least 2+ years’ experience in front-end development
Hands-on experience with a personalisation or experimentation platform (e.g. Salesforce Marketing Cloud Personalisation, Optimizely, Adobe Target, Dynamic Yield)
Experience building and maintaining CloudPages or similar dynamic web pages (using HTML, CSS, JavaScript, AMPscript or SSJS)
Proficient in working with APIs (REST/JSON) and managing data flows between systems
Experience with data layers, tag management systems (e.g. GTM, Tealium), and event tracking implementation
Strong debugging and troubleshooting skills using browser developer tools and relevant QA tools
Familiarity with modern web environments and frameworks such as Drupal, React.js, or Next.js
Understanding of customer journeys and the ability to translate marketing requirements into technical solutions
Experience working collaboratively with marketing, UX, and engineering teams, including engaging with senior stakeholders
Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple priorities effectively
Creative problem-solving mindset with the ability to work in a fast-paced, evolving environment
Awareness of GDPR and data privacy best practices in web personalisation
Knowledge of serverless architecture
Desirable requirements:
Experience with Headless CMS platforms (e.g. Contentful, Strapi)
Exposure to A/B testing frameworks and conversion rate optimisation (CRO) methodologies
Knowledge of GraphQL or other API query languages
Understanding of web performance testing and optimisation, including Core Web Vitals
Prior experience in Higher Education or B2C marketing environments
Experience working with React.js, including building reusable components or integrations within CMS or personalisation platforms
Familiarity with GA4 event tracking and attribution modelling
Experience with serverless or cloud-native environments (e.g. AWS Lambda, Kubernetes)
Basic understanding of UX/UI principles and experience collaborating with designers
Familiarity with design tools such as Figma or Sketch
Experience working with Twig templates and Drupal themes
Exposure to Static Site Generators, particularly Gatsby
