Associate Editor: Module Maintenance

This is a freelance/remote working role
Based within our Library Service our Associate Editors assist with the development and maintenance of our Learning Modules. Associate Editors work alongside the Library and Digital Learning Teams in ensuring all of the resources required to deliver our modules are available to students and easy for them to access.
You will be involved in supporting the development and maintenance of Arden’s modules, to include:
- Fixing broken links – including those reported by students and any others identified through the checking process.
- Updating key text links, as identified by Arden’s library.
- Updating referencing to new agreed standards (style sheet to be provided by Arden).
- Proof reading and amending files as instructed by the project coordinator.
You will have excellent planning, organisational and time management skills, excellent verbal and written communication skills and high levels of IT literacy including Microsoft Office 365 applications. (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Teams O365 etc).
You will have experience of proof-reading documents and of following style guides and good knowledge of referencing styles commonly used in Higher Education and scholarly communications. You will need to be capable of working with a high degree of accuracy, across a large volume of documents to correct and amend links and academic references.
Ideally you will also have experience of using library systems to find and retrieve books, journals and articles as well as knowledge of copyright and how it applies in a higher education setting.
This is a freelance opportunity to help us to develop, update and maintain our learning modules and we are looking for candidates to work with us for 20-37.5 hours per week for up to six months in the first instance with the opportunity to extend this to assist with future projects.
The work itself can be carried out at any time and you will have a weekly planning meeting with the project coordinator.
You will need to be available to attend the weekly meeting during business working hours of 9-5 Monday to Friday.
